The Reimagining Freedom, Know Your Rights community forum will facilitate dialogue and inform community members on legal rights and strategies when interacting with law enforcement, specifically police, Sheriff, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The forum will also address racial bias in the justice system and how that often translates into violence and disparate treatment against Black and Brown people here in Los Angeles. This event is timely because many community members have been asking for a Know Your Rights training, given all of the protests, marches, and actions that we are consistently witnessing across the country. Our panelists expert lawyers will explain our rights in a digestible manner that leaves folks with a clear understanding of how we can protect ourselves and our loved ones during the current movement.
